Y9/10 Be A Vet

Last Tuesday, our Be a Vet students visited Myuna Farm to learn about animal husbandry. Here are some student reflections:

On Tuesday 6 September, our Be A Vet class went on an excursion to visit Myuna Farm. We all had a great time there and learnt a lot about animals and how they are taken care of there. We spent the first half of the day going around the farm and feeding all of the animals. During this, we learnt about how different animals are fed and taken care of in the farm. During the second half of the day, we performed health checks on some of the rabbits and guinea pigs. We each went through the whole process of performing the health check, looking at their physical and emotional health and also giving them medicine and tick treatment. Throughout the rest of the day, we were able to go see the animals and some of us were able to do things like milk a goat and give milk to the lambs. Overall, it was a great experience for all of us to see how these animals are taken care of and live on the farm.

On Tuesday, our Be A Vet class went on an excursion to Myuna Farm. We all enjoyed being able to make up feed for the animals and have a tour around the farm, getting to see all the animals. I even got to hand feed a camel and bottle feed a baby goat! We also got to do a health examination on guinea pigs and rabbits and give them vitamin C solutions. Overall, the excursion was lots of fun and we all learnt a lot!
