Junior School Report
Ms Alice Paget
Term 3 has flown by for the Year 7 and 8 students. There have been some exciting events and programs, including ‘The Hurting Game’, a funny and engaging theatre production that provided strategies for resilience, help-seeking, online safety and positive relationships. Students have also completed their course selection for 2023, including course counselling interviews, to ensure their selections will hold them in great stead for the years to come.
Progress reports are available on Compass. The focus of the progress reports is on the students learning behaviours, including their effort, behaviour, using class time effectively and meeting deadlines. Please take the time to discuss your child’s progress report with them; what are they doing well, and what are the key areas for improvement? It was great to see many parents and guardians at the Parent Teacher Interviews on Tuesday 13th of September. A three-way partnership (student-parent-teacher) can help to bring out the best possible outcomes for your child.
Have a safe and relaxing holiday and I look forward to what will be a jam-packed Term 4!
Upcoming events in Term 4:
FUTURE YEAR 7'S OF 2023
Do you have a sibling coming into Year 7 next year?
This is also a second reminder that to assist in our planning for 2023, students who are joining us in Year 7 next year need to select their iCreate subject for 2023. To select their iCreate subject, students must complete an online survey found here or by scanning the QR code below with the camera of a smartphone or tablet. If you have already completed this, thank you, and there is no need to complete it a second time.
Information on each iCreate subject can be found in the iCreate Handbook. Please bear in mind that although Duke of Edinburgh appears in the handbook, unfortunately, the signup age is restricted to students 14 years or older, therefore it is unlikely any year 7s will qualify for the program. This will remain an option in future years. Those who have selected Duke of Ed as a first preference will be considered for their second preference.
It is important to do this as soon as possible to ensure your child gets their 1st, 2nd or 3rd preference for iCreate.
