COHR Art Show

The best word to describe this year's Art Show was, WOW! We do hope you were able to visit the Art Show over the week and enjoy our very talented children's pieces.  Today all students will be bringing home their Art Show pieces in a large portfolio. Congratulations to the children, and their families, who won a Class art Piece. These can be collected from the Office.

Last Wednesday the Opening Night was a wonderful community event, where our Arts Captains were able to officially open the show. Their speech, included below, sums up all the efforts it takes to create such an event. As a school we are blessed to have such wonderful student leaders, who worked so hard all year to make the Art Show a success. Thank you Bonnie and Lara.

 

Welcome everybody to this year's COHR Art Show!

As your Art Captains Lara and Bonnie we are very fortunate to be able to host and organise it this year!

 

It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Mrs. Hunt, Ms. Cowan, Mr Welsford 

and all of the teachers who helped us to be able to make and display our wonderful art!

This year students and teachers were encouraged to make a class art piece shouting out this year's theme, make your mark and see where it takes you. As you can see they have done an amazing job and tonight there will be 9 lucky winners of these art pieces.

 

We also want to thank again the students who participated in a design competition 

for the COHR Art Show Ticket. As you walked into the Hall, you may have seen a wall of tickets that students entered into the Design Competition. Tonight's tickets were in fact designed by the winner - Izzy. Congratulations!!!

 

Over the past 3 Terms, Students have used different Art styles to create the amazing artwork displayed all around the school. Some were quick and easy but many of them took a lot of thought and creativity and tonight is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the incredible creations of the COHR students.

 

We hope you enjoy looking around all of the Art Show including the Foyer, 5/6 Corridor, the Glow Gallery and our sensational Library space.
