From Our School Captains-

Allegra and Ethan

This term there have been so many exciting events at COHR. We, your School Captains, would like to reflect on some of the great achievements and highlights at COHR in Term 3.

This term students all had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character to celebrate Book Week. During library sessions we have read the shortlisted books and showcased them through activities that we all had so much fun creating.

Students from grades Prep to Year Four have participated in swimming this term. They have thoroughly enjoyed their experience while learning so much on swimming techniques, diving  and the basics. They have been working together to become safer in water and have had so much fun learning. Students hope to take part in swimming in the future as it was a great part of Term 3.

The Year 6's celebrated their Confirmation this term, and developed a closer relationship with God and made many new learnings about the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Students had the opportunity to meet with Bishop Tony Ireland prior to their Confirmation and discuss the importance of the sacrament, as well as their favourite footy team and food. We thank Bishop Ireland and Fr Raju for their support during this special time.

Another highlight was the Tennis Hot Shots which several Year 5/6 students have taken part in. Each and everyone of them played with respect, kindness and skill. Which has led to tremendous achievements. Defeating four other schools, the senior students showcased what great athletes they were. Both the girls and boys teams reached first place in District and now represent COHR at Division in Term 4.

Recently we have showcased the incredible art we all created at this year's art show. The show was a wonderful display that was shared with parents, family and friends and we sincerely appreciate all that the staff did to make it possible. Each class had the opportunity to make a class piece that every student helped create, which families could buy raffle tickets for. Students additionally chose four of their favourite pieces to include at the show making it a truly incredible display with so much variety and amazing art.

This term all students from Years 3-6 participated in our COHR Athletics. Many different track and field events, gave students the chance to show off their talents and work their hardest. Several pupils have recorded great results and have progressed further to District. Competing against many other schools, athletes of all ages tried their hardest to do their best. Although COHR did not win, students have enjoyed athletics immensely and a handful of students have shown great efforts, and can now  represent COHR at Division.

Of course, a special time this term is Fathers Day. Students of all ages were able to spend time at the Fathers Day stall. They could buy special items for their dads or loved ones to enjoy doing it. At the end of the day, the COHR Fathers Day raffle was drawn and many lucky students have won amazing gifts for their dads or loved ones. We appreciate all the

Parents Association mums who have given up their  time and effort to make this day a better time for all the dads.

Finally, the highlight of every Friday in Terms 2 & 3 finishes tomorrow.. the Cake Raffle. The suspense every time a name is drawn where we in COHR style always list the gender, class and grade before we say a name. We wonder who the lucky winner of this year's last cake raffle will be.

We have had a great time being your school captains throughout 2022 and can't wait to spend our last term with the COHR community.
