Biological Sciences

This term we will be exploring the field of biological science.

Some of the content that we will cover includes:

  • revising the scientific way of thinking and asking good questions
  • defining the difference between living and non living things
  • classifying living things into sub categories, e.g., mammals, reptiles, fish, birds, insects, plants, etc.
  • mini investigations into the specifics of mammals, insects and plants
  • exploring life cycles of different living things
  • personal investigation into a living thing of their choice

Excursion:

This term, we have booked an excursion to Healsville Sanctuary. This includes access to roam the sanctuary as a group, but we have also booked a special educational experience titled, 'Habitats, features and Life Cycles' which ties in beautifully with our areas of focus this term.

 

Due to logistics we have booked two seperate days for this excursion. Details are below:

  • 100, 101, 102 and 1/220 are booked for Monday the 7th of November
  •  211 and 212 are booked for Tuesday the 8th of November
