Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

This week, we were pleased to welcome the students and staff from Falls Creek Primary who will be operating on site while the road to Falls Creek is closed. Our students have enjoyed catching up with their friends and we are all making the most of this opportunity for our schools to work together.

Congratulations to all those students who participated in last week's Division Athletics.  It was really pleasing to hear how well each student did and we were particularly proud to hear of their great sportsmanship.  Well done to all students on their achievement!

Tennis coaching resumed on Tuesday and will continue over the next five weeks.  Many thanks to coach Geoff Hollow and Tennis Australia for providing our students with this opportunity.

Tomorrow, students will attend the Mount Beauty Writers' Festival as part of a focus on schools. As students will be walking to the Community Centre for this event, please ensure students have a raincoat and/or umbrella.  The day will be divided into two sessions; P-4 in the morning and Years 5-6 in the afternoon.  During the day, students will hear from a range of authors including our own Jarrod Payne, Carly Nugent, Amelia Mellor and James Phelan.  For more information about Saturday's program, please refer to our community news.

Tomorrow, students in Years 3-6 will also participate in the Martial Arts Therapy (MAT) program.  Last week our students enjoyed learning about the program and experiencing some of what the program has to offer.  Many thanks to our instructor, Guy, who is travelling from Melbourne each week to deliver this program.

Next week many of our students will be heading off to camp.  Many thanks to all participating staff for their organisation and to all our volunteers for giving their time to assist with these camps.  Please note that families can find a copy of the packing list and general information in the Event Resources section of Compass.

Please note that students in Years 3-4 will depart for Melbourne at 7am so students need to be at the bus shelter at 6.45am in order that we can get the bus packed and students checked on.

On Tuesday morning, students in Years 5-6 will embark for Wilsons Promontory.  The bus will depart at 8.00am, so students need to meet staff at the bus shelter at 7.45am.
