A message from our Principal

Dear St. Brendan's School Community,

We certainly started Term 4 with typical Spring weather, one day sunny, then rain and wind the next.  The students certainly have enjoyed the days of sunshine.

It was unfortunate that the District Athletics were cancelled due to the rain.  The Year 6's were the only Year level who had the opportunity to compete, however our Year 6's were on Camp.

We were given permission to send students from Year 6 and Year 5 that did well at our Athletics to go to the next stage, this was held on Monday.

Well done to the following students:

12-13 Years

Tom Collins - 200 metres, Triple Jump

Harley Kirkpatrick - 100 metres sprint

Nitya Advani - Hurdles

10-11 Years

Wyatt Carlson - Sprint and High Jump

Congratulations to Nitya Advani who advances to the next stage in hurdles as she came 2nd.

Congratulations also to Wyatt Carlson who came 2nd in High Jump and just missed out in the Sprint as he came forth.

Good luck to Nitya and Wyatt.

Year 6 Camp

The Year 6 Camp at Angahook Airey's Inlet was held on Monday, 3rd October and students returned Wednesday, 5th October in the afternoon.

The students and teachers were very fortunate as they had no rain whilst they were there.  The teachers and the camp personnel remarked on the excellent behaviour of our students and that they had such great resilience as they were willing to have a go at all activities.

Special thanks to the teachers; Mr Lindon, Mr Beks, Mr Dyminski, Mr Iorianni and Miss Turk for all their care for our students.

Thanks to Mr Thompson for his organisation of the Camp.  Students and teachers had a wonderful experience.

Foundation - 2 Excursion

Our Foundation/1 and Years 1/2 students attended an excursion to Echuca on Thursday, 6th and Friday, 7th October.

They attended the Twisted Science Centre and then went on the Paddle Steamer.  Both groups enjoyed the bus trip and activities and managed to avoid the rain that was predicted.

Many thanks to Mr Cameron for his organisation of both excursions and Mr Almond,

Mrs Jones, Mr Kelly, Miss Turk, Miss Finn, Mr Enright, Mr Morrison, Mr Brian,

Mr Adronaco and Sarah for their care of the students.

Thanks to the parents who attended the excursion, Harneet Kaur, Luke Sofi, Lauren Ash, Kylie Kellett, Josephine Spencer, Lisa Morey, Kate Fairgray, John Miksad, Natalie Gallo and Cherie Moore.  We really appreciate your time and help.

Summer Uniform

From this Monday, 17th October, all students will be in Full Summer Uniform.  We ask you please mark/name children's belongings as we always have jumpers left outside without names and not claimed.

Parents and Friends have Name labels that you can order which would be great.

Children must wear hats this Term.

Yours sincerely,

Paula Stevenson - Principal
