The position requires you to be a confident salesperson on the shop floor, keeping the shop well stocked, scanning documents and renaming files and lots of other general duties.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible with their availability for at least two nights per week after school and also available to work on Saturday mornings on a rotating roster.

After school hours are 3.45 pm-5.30 pm and Saturday mornings 8.30 am-12.00 pm.  Full-time hours when offered, range from 7.00 am-5.30 pm so the opportunity for plenty of work is available.

Eastwood Golf Club - Apprentice Greenkeeper

Eastwood Golf Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic first-year apprentice greenkeeper to join our team.   Eastwood Golf Club is a private members club, founded in 1955.  Nestled at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges in Kilsyth, the Club is set on 48 acres and features an 18-hole golf course and two bowling greens.

 

We are seeking to employ someone who has a passion for the industry, strong leadership potential and enjoys working in a small team.  

 

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the setting up the course for the play each day, the maintenance of all turf surfaces, maintenance of gardens and traffic areas as well as completing a Certificate III in Sport Turf Management.

 

The successful candidate must also possess or demonstrate:

  • An enthusiasm and motivation for the study and practice of turf management
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a small team
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A desire for a long-term career in the turf management
  • A strong commitment to obtaining an apprenticeship qualification
  • A current driver’s licence and own transport, or ability to arrange reliable transport to the Club for early morning starts (between 5am-6am on weekdays and weekends)
  • Adherence to current health and safety practices
  • A strong work ethic

The successful candidate must be available to work on a weekend roster and overtime as required.  An understanding of the game of golf is desirable. You must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for this position.
