We have been writing poetry in grade 34 this term. So far the students have written Limericks, Haiku, Acrostic, Clerihew and Diamante poems. Here are some that they have written.
There once was a person called Zac
Who had a very sore back
So he jumped out of a plane
And every one thought he was insane

Wattle seeds from outer space,
We will feel the project awesome embrace,
We will observe every day,
Until we make it hurray!

There once was a dog,
it looked like a frog,
it was all green and slimy,
and it’s name was Hermione.

There once was a river stream,
Who sang like it was a dream,
It went down a slope
And lost its hope,
But then it cheered up with ice-cream

An acrostic poem - Wattle Seeds
Way out into space the little seeds went
Arriving with the Astronauts
Travelling in the International Space Station
Time goes by as the seeds explored space
Launched back to Earth
Experiment for schools to plant these seeds
Seeds to be planted and watched
Enthusiastic children at Andersons Creek
Excited to plant and see them grow
Digging holes and watering them
Special care we will give as we enjoy watching them grow.
by Isla
Our wattle seeds went near the moon
In a rocket they went zoom zoom
On return we put the wattle
Into a really big bottle
Hopefully we’ll see them grow soon
