School Advisory Council

SAC Meeting 24 August 2021

The School Advisory Council meeting was held online for this month.  Thank you to everyone that attended, we understand it can be challenging going to a meeting with lots going on in people’s lives.

We all welcomed the news that the building project is complete and some additional painting has been done to freshen up the older external parts of the school. We are all looking forward to seeing the finished product as soon as we can.

Due to the changes in the outside space, reviews have been undertaken on child safety and risk assessment to ensure all areas are managed when the children return. This is an ongoing process and the staff are regularly updating policies and procedures. We also discussed some policies including Complaints Handling, Anti-bullying, Privacy and Assessment and Reporting. All these policies and more are available for families to view on the St John’s website.

We are hoping to establish a sub-committee to review the current school uniform. If anyone is interested in being part of the committee, please contact Verona directly. It will involve an audit of what is currently available, potential surveying of families and options for the future. We would welcome the participation of any current families on this committee.

We would like to thank Monica Deehan for her time and commitment being part of the SAC for the last couple of years. We have valued her insights and wish her all the very best. We will also be looking for a new Chairperson in 2022 and as we head towards the end of the year. We welcome any expressions of interest from new members. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Verona if you would like more information.
