School Council Meetings

Our next School Council meeting will be held online next

The dates of the next Committee meetings are as follows:

Finance: Tuesday 7th September – 5.45pm

School Council: Wednesday 8th September – 7.00pm

Policy Update

At the last School Council meeting we ratified the following policies and procedures:  Child Safe Code of Conduct, Child Safe Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures, Digital Technologies Policy and Statement of Values and School Philosophy. These are all available on the school website or in hard copy at the school office.

As a result of the updates, all staff and volunteers will be required to resign to the Child Safe Code of Conduct.

Child Safe Presentation

During the last meeting School Councilors were briefed on the Child Safe Standards and the school's obligations to manage the risk of child abuse in the school environment.

Part of this obligation is around having the required policies and procedures in place in order to protect our children (including the Child Safe Code of Conduct - see above).  It also includes providing health and wellbeing education programs (such as the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program).  All staff are required to hold either a VIT registration (teachers) or a Working with Children Card (Education Support).  All volunteers (including parents), incursion staff, visitors  who work with children, trades people who work on site and allied health workers are also required to have a valid Working With Children Card.

The school follows the mandatory requirements when responding to allegations of child abuse. Classroom activities are conducted throughout the year and posters are displayed to promote awareness of students and support them in talking to trusted adults.

The school has a Child Safety Risk Register in order to identify the risks to our students and take action to reduce or remove these risks.

If you would like more information on the Child Safety Standards or our policies and procedures, please contact the office.

Strategic Plan

As a result of our school review earlier this year the school has also developed the new Strategic Plan, which was presented to the School Council.

The Strategic Plan is available on the school's website.

More information will provided on the Strategic Plan in future newsletters.
