Homegroup Olympiad

Last week homegroups took part in the ‘Arts Challenge’. Using the Arts as inspiration, homegroups were set the challenge to design a homegroup sculpture. They could recreate a famous artwork, mimic an international dance troop or copy a famous photograph. The creativity was amazing and points were awarded for the lengths homegroups went to.

Below are some of the creative homegroup photos:

Our Olympiad Challenge for ‘making connections’ in homegroup continues this week, in spite of remote learning, with the Lockdown Snack Challenge. If you’re stuck for ideas, here are some contributions from our clever students.

Whilst it has only been a week of remote learning, we understand that students and parents may experience a range of difficulties, particularly with technology and anxiety over making it to ZOOM sessions. Remote learning comes with unforeseen challenges and we are here to help wherever we can.  We want to see you in homegroup, but if that is not possible for you we will make contact to check on your wellbeing and see if we can be of any assistance.

Please contact your homegroup teacher, House Leader, class teacher or myself if you have any questions or require assistance.  Our IT specialists are available to help with technology problems you may be experiencing.

If you have wellbeing concerns or need some advice our counsellor, Miss Emma Shearer, is still accessible.  Please contact your House Leader if you would like a referral.  For senior students our Coaches are also available for ZOOM appointments.  You can book appointments through the Coaching tile on CANVAS.

Here is a link to reachout.com, this website has a range of articles which provide information relevant to what our young people are experiencing.

Keep those lockdown snack ideas coming!
