VCE Drama

Enormous congratulations to Storm Mercer (Year 12) and Kane Wilson (Year 11) for their nominations for a very prestigious Georgy Award. Both students have been nominated for ‘Best Performance in a VCE play’ for their stunning work in the VCE Theatre Studies production, You Can’t Take It With You, produced in April this year by Mrs Kat Bristol. Storm Mercer’s interpretation of Tony, the romantic lead who stands up to his intimidating father in the name of love, was delightfully moving and warmly received by his audience. Kane Wilson performed as the full of life and sharp as a tack ‘Grandpa’. His highly entertaining and perfectly delivered asides were met with much laughter. Impressively, Kane is also nominated twice more for his performance as ‘Kenickie’ in the Alliance’s production Grease! We have no idea how the judges will decide between these amazingly talented boys and the other nominees but congratulate them on their nominations. We wish Kane and Storm an enjoyable evening at the Eastbank on Saturday November 11th. Tickets to the Georgy Awards are available through riverlinksvenues.com.au or ph: (03) 58329511

VMG Drama

The Drama Department would like to advise of a change of date to the Drama Showcase this semester. The performance for family and friends will now be Tuesday 28th November at 6pm in the VISY Theatrette. The VMG Drama Students are very excited about their hilarious and colourful production of ‘The Twits’ and will also be performing two matinee shows for local primary school students on Nov 28th and 29th. The class has been working extremely well as a production team and we have shared a great deal of laughter in rehearsals already. We do hope to see you at the Showcase!

Year 7 Monograms

Mrs McGregor’s year 7 Media classes have created some amazing work for their Monogram assignment. Here are some of their fantastic designs. The Monograms had to fulfil a criteria including colouring, outline, ruling, design and spacing. Well done 7C and 7D!
