Principal's Report

Indigenous day

This week on Wednesday we recognised indigenous day by holding a number of events and activities for all students to engage in. These included art, cultural and sporting activities facilitated by our staff, members of the Knox School Focused Youth Services team and EACH. These activities helped to further educate all of our students who participated about the importance of understanding and recognising our indigenous history and heritage. I have had the pleasure of working with our indigenous students recently and I am excited about some of the activities we have planned that will be unveiled soon. In particular thankyou to Katrina Katz for her leadership of what was a very positive day.

Year 12s last week of classes

This week marks the finale of structured classes for Year 12 students and Friday has ended with our traditional SpringFest celebration which has allowed the Year 12 cohort to enjoy a number of fun and engaging activities along with students from all other year levels. Whilst this week is the end in some ways, in others it is just the beginning with the start of the exam period only a couple of weeks away. I would particularly like to thank Year 12 teachers for their hard work and support of the Year 12 students particularly over the last few and coming weeks. I wish our Year 12s all the best not only in the coming weeks, but throughout the next stages of their journey and I look forward to celebrating with them and their families at the Valedictory Dinner.

Insurance for student injury at school

I would like to remind parents that the school does not have insurance for students who sustain injuries at school. I strongly encourage parents to have up-to-date ambulance cover and parents should note that they are responsible for any medical expenses such as ambulance costs incurred if their child is injured or requires an ambulance at school, or whilst participating in a school activity.
