The Careers Hub

Careers resources available on Compass
To all students and families: due to the amount of valuable information available for Careers, I have now created a folder of Careers Resources on Compass. You will find it in School Documentation under the Community menu.
Here you will be able to find everything you might need to know about Work Experience, the Careers Elective core content, tertiary course information, the latest Australian Jobs 2018 Report, articles of interest about the future of work, forms, career action plans, the Careers Handbook and a host of other goodies, so please take the time to have a look. If you have any questions feel free to send me an email to bronte.howell@preshil.vic.edu.au

Australian jobs 2018 latest report
Australian Jobs 2018 presents an overview of the labour market and is available as the complete 48 page report. You can read it online or download it here:
https://docs.jobs.gov.au/system/files/doc/other/australianjobs2018.pdf
You can also see a snapshot here: https://docs.jobs.gov.au/system/files/doc/other/australianjobs2018snapshot.pdf
The Department is also developing a standalone website for this report which will be fully accessible and expected to be available late May.
Meeting Year 12 students
Please make a time to meet me during this term as this will give us plenty of time to explore your ideas and research some courses and early entry options before the VTAC site opens early August. Whether you are taking a gap year or undergoing university/non-university study, it's important to explore your options in readiness for whatever you decide.
Visit the Careers Hub
If you have a little time spare I encourage you to come upstairs and pay a visit to the Careers Hub. The noticeboards are updated regularly with new information as it becomes available. There are lots of course brochures and general careers information. If you can't find what you are looking for please don't hesitate to pop into the office and ask. If I don't have it, I would be more than happy to find it for you. Parents and students are welcome anytime. Its never too early to start exploring your future.
Making an appointment
You can find me in The Careers Hub office upstairs in Blackhall. This term I will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fridays are by email appointment only. Please use this link on the Preshil Careers website to make an appointment on those days because it syncs to my calendar to avoid clashes. For a Friday appointment or any questions or concerns please email me at bronte.howell@preshil.vic.edu.au
