From the Principal

Dear distant families…

I hope everyone is faring well in this strange, reduced life we are all experiencing at present.

This newsletter is full of our need to reflect on our experiences and repeated invitations to share reflections with us. Dan has written about how valuable we have all found the feedback we have received from students and parents alike and I can only encourage you to continue to do so.

There could be no better result from this time than to return to onsite classes with all of our students feeling greater confidence to consider what works best for them and what gets in the way of their learning. We could give them no better gift than the ability to understand themselves as learners and be able to articulate that to their teachers. That is a sure recipe for success.

Each day I have the opportunity to admire and delight in the efforts our teachers make to bring the learning to life on line. They are united in their endeavours to find ever more inventive ways to engage, inspire and support each individual student. It is very gratifying to know how much they are appreciated.

With little clarity or consistency in the messages schools are being given from educational authorities and health advisors, we cannot say when we will meet again at our lovely Blackhall Kalimna campus. We are, however, making good use of the time to make whatever improvements we can in preparation for that moment when we can say, “Welcome back!”
