Connectedness

There is a lot happening at the Library. It is a hub for both teachers and students for online classes and a safe place to relax and borrow books at lunch time. This week we have had a Space theme, with a new display of books on Space.

The Mindfulness and Yoga classes have had a Space theme too this week and Space exploration has been incorporated into our yoga movements - feeling into the energy of earth, sky and the universe at large. We then reflected on our connection to all things with the quote from a famous scientist Carl Sagan (1934-1996)

"We are all made of star stuff"

So, although we are socially distanced at this time we are still connected to the universe and therefore each other.

Weekly online story-time sessions are still running for Kindergarten and the Lighthouse Keepers in the 5's. This week we read a book for the 5's called “You Are Stardust” by Elin Kelsey. This is a beautiful book that points out our connection to Mother Nature and the universe at large with quirky and interesting scientific facts. For example, did you know that you tend to shed the most hair in early autumn and save your thickest growth for winter? (I guess we will all need haircuts soon.) This is a great introduction to the spiritual concept that we are all connected using scientific facts as a way to communicate the connectedness we have to earth and the universe.
