What better way for our Lighthouse Keepers to start school than to discover that they have a Biggie for a special Buddy?
'Biggies and Buddies' is off to a flying start this year. During Biggies times the Lighthouse Keepers are paired with a child from the Peppercorn 11s in order to help them develop relationships throughout the school.
The Lighthouse Keepers' look up to their Biggies as role models and really value the time they get to spend together. It is also wonderful to see the Biggies take on the role of carer and mentor during this time.
At this stage in the year, the Biggies and Buddies are getting to know each other through sharing games and activities. Later in the year, the program focuses on sharing reading, writing and numeracy activities, developing these skills and also the joy that comes from sharing our learning.
It is amazing to see the bonds which are developed during this time and we are all proud to carry on this Preshil tradition.
