It's going to be a big term ahead for students involved in the Performing Arts.

 

Congratulations SACE Drama Production

A big Congratulations to Carlos Garcia, Christian Apolloni, Lorenzo Ravida, Benedict Gbala and Adam Nguyen on their fantastic performance of AHXFI. Students performed with great energy, enthusiasm and professionalism.

 

An extended Congratulations to Mr Robert Becker for all of his efforts and contributions in directing the show and his work with the students. It was a true reflection on how the Performing Arts enables students to shine through  their talents. All involved are to be truly commended.

Music Information Evening and Middle Years Showcase

A reminder that on Monday evening, 6 August, there will be a Music Information Evening for Middle School students in the Fr James O’Doherty Performing Arts Centre. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the Specialist Music Program at Blackfriars as well as 2019 Scholarships, Co-curricular opportunities and electives.

 

ABODA Festival

In Week 5 on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 August we have four ensembles competing in the state wide ABODA Festival. On Thursday 24 August the Concert Bands will be performing and on Friday the Stage Bands are performing at Westminster School, Marion. The On Stage Times are as follows:

 

Thursday 24 August

Concert Band 2 – 10.50am

Concert Band 3 – 12.20pm

Concert Band 1 – 2.15pm

 

Friday 25 August

Stage Band 2 – 11.00am

Stage Band 1 – 2.45pm

 

Please come and support the students. Admission is a gold coin.

 

Annual Music Concert

Our largest event for the year will take place on Thursday 30 August at the Woodville Town Hall. A letter has gone home this week outlining information regarding ensembles involved. We are asking for donations for our raffle to be brought to the Music Office and offers of help from parents to assist with the evening. All parents, friends and students of the community are invited to attend.

 

Catholic School’s Music Festival

Information regarding the Catholic School’s Music Festival has been sent home. Blackfriars has a strong representation throughout the week.

 

Monday 10 September – 6/7 Choir 1st row Festival Choir, Stage Band 1 Support Act, 10 Students part of Baritone Group

Tuesday 11 September – Senior Vocal Support Act, 10 Students part of Baritone Group

Wednesday 12 September - 10 Students part of Baritone Group

Thursday 13 September - 10 Students part of Baritone Group
