Library News
Our celebration of Australian authors and illustrators has begun as we prepare for Book Week in Week 5. This year’s theme is ‘Find your Treasure.’ We have delved into some theme-related books before we turn our focus to the shortlisted books for this year.
A reminder that the children will be involved in a variety of activities, during their library lessons and on the Friday of Book Week. Friday 24 August will also be when we host the Book Week Parade. The children are invited to dress as their favourite book character or a reading theme-related character (Find your Treasure.)
Please note that we do not want the children to hire costumes but to give some thought to things they might have at home or could make that can be incorporated into a costume.
We would like to invite parents and friends to our Book Week Parade, which will be held in Lesson 1 (8:55am) in the Gym on Friday 24 August. You too, are welcome to dress up!
In the Senior Library we would like to remind students that the Premier's Reading Challenge finishes in Week 7 of this term. Students need to read 12 books and have these signed off by the library staff to complete the challenge.
Finally, all Semester 1 textbooks should have been returned to the library if the subject is not being continued this term. Please make sure any outstanding textbooks are returned promptly as invoicing will be carried out over the next few weeks.
