Musical Notes

Musical Notes
This coming fortnight we continue to prepare for many forthcoming events and first performances of the year. I would like to congratulate Stage Band 1 for their first performance of the year at the Laureate Assembly on Monday.
Open Day
This week a letter will be sent home to students involved in Stage Bands 1 and 2, Concert Band 1, Big Band Theory and some selected soloists. Open Day will occur on Wednesday 14 March and students will need to arrive back at school in their summer uniform at the allocated times. Spare copies of letters can be found in the Documents section of SEQTA or available from Ms Anastasia Lambis in the Front Office.
TRUTH Fringe Performance
Our Stage 2 and Old Scholar Drama students have been busily preparing for their performance in the Adelaide Fringe. The Blackfriars Players will be performing a play written by Karen Sierp entitled “TRUTH” at the Parks Community Centre on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 March. Please check the Promo Package on the School’s Facebook page as well as at:

Music Camp Incursion Day
On Tuesday 20 March, Students involved in Generations in Jazz will participate in a day of workshops in preparation for the event. Parents will be invited at the conclusion of the day for a small performance in our new Performing Arts Centre.
Gen Connection Concert
On Sunday 8 April Blackfriars, St Mary’s, St Michael’s, CBC and Nazareth College will combine to perform a concert as a prelude to Generations in Jazz. We are calling for any donations which can be contributed to a raffle for this event.
