Fringe Event at The Parks

Cast of our Fringe show TRUTH.

Can you Handle the TRUTH again?

Of course you can.

Blackfriars was honoured and delighted when the Parks Community Theatre Manager invited us to perform TRUTH again at their season of performances called Fringe at The Parks.

TRUTH written by local playwright Karen Sierp addresses some very important questions about cyber safety, power and consent.  Haven’t these issues been front and centre with the “Me Too” movement.

This play doesn’t shirk these issues and is quite confronting at times as it asks the audience to be the jury at the end of the play.

The cast consists of old scholars who performed so well last year in this, their Stage 2 Performance, old scholars from previous years, current Stage 2 Drama students and a St Dominic’s student – a Dominican community with a belief in the power of the Arts to be an agent for social change.

We were pleasantly surprised when the Don Dunstan Foundation for Social Change recommended our play as one to see for its commitment to social justice.

TRUTH will be performed at The Parks Community Theatre on Thursday 1 March and Friday 2 March at The Parks Theatre One.

Tickets are available through FringeTix.

As a side note, watch this space and the Blackfriars social media for a promo video for TRUTH. The cast spent a day of their holidays with a film crew from ArgosMotion shooting this video which should be out soon. Also, tune in to the Radio Adelaide Breakfast program on Wednesday 28 February when the cast will be promoting the show.
