FROM THE PRINCIPAL

TERM 3 - WEEK 7

Thank you to all the dads who helped celebrate Fathers’ Day early and joined us for a BBQ breakfast last Friday and in particular to the cooks. Thank you also for your participation in the paraliturgy that followed. If the definition of a dad joke is that it must be really bad, then some of the dads certainly fulfilled that requirement. Mr Clery’s “guns” were most disappointing. We also had "Flanno Friday" to raise money and show support for those struggling with the drought. Congratulations to Jag Hyland, Jock Barwick, Angus Spry, Kai Stewart, Angus Barwick and Jimmy Cannon for all their efforts in getting the day up and running.

This Sunday will be our second Family Mass for Term 3.  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a part of the parish community to pray and worship together. After Mass, there will be a morning tea hosted by some of our Year 1 and Year 5 parents.

A big thank you to the merry band of helpers from the PT&F for their hard work in organising the Fathers’ Day stall on Friday. Hopefully all the dads got a surprise on Sunday.

NAPLAN Reports for Year 3 and Year 5 will be sent home to Year 3 and Year 5 parents next week. I would encourage parents to contact the school if they have any concerns or questions about their child’s report. As you are well aware our students sat the tests online this year. The school has begun analysing our data and the early signs are that our students in both Year 3 and 5 have done well again this year. The LIFT program and 2 More Marks look like they are having a very positive effect.
