Orienteering Program

Today the Year 3 students were lucky enough to participate in an Orienteering Program (run by Daniel from Orienteering Victoria) who devised three different courses around the school for the students to experience. The students learnt how to read a map, follow a prepared course, use the control markers and control answer sheets, and how to check if they made each marker in the correct sequence.

The Year 3 students loved it and will have another session next week. The Year 4's will also be learning how to Orienteer on Friday.

SSA Touch Championships

From Sunday the 27th of October to Friday the 1st of November I went to Canberra for the National Touch Football Championships. Early Sunday morning I met my team at the airport. When we got to Canberra we did a 2-hour training session. Monday morning started with an opening ceremony. For the opening ceremony all the teams had to line up in their states with their state flag in front of them and march onto the fields. We played 2 games every day except on the Wednesday when all the states had an excursion to Questacon. Team Vic ended up coming 4th  place out of 8 states what a great result. I had a great time and a fantastic experience. Angus Kinney (5D)

Great job Angus!

Victorian Indoor Hockey Championships

Xavier C (5B) recently participated in the Victorian Indoor Hockey Championships for under 13 players. Xavier did a great job playing goalie for his team, which finished just out of the medal contention.

Well done Xavier!
