Junior School news
Welcome!
A huge warm welcome to our new Year 7 students and a big welcome back to our Year 8s. We hope they had a great holiday and are ready for a productive year! It was pleasing to see many parents attend the School Assembly on the first day and watch the school welcome the Year 7 cohort into the gym.
Here is some information to assist Junior School parents and students.
Year 7 Parent Information Evening
Year 7 Parents are invited to attend an information night on Tuesday 11 February, 7pm in the Lecture Theatre. We are sure you have many questions about how the school day runs now that your daughter has started here. We would also like you to meet other parents from your child’s class as well as some of the teachers. An email has been sent to all families about this night.
Year 7 Family Welcome Picnic
Year students and their families are invited to the welcome picnic. This is a great opportunity for Year 7 families to meet one another This will be held on Thursday 19 March in the canteen courtyard from 6pm to 8pm. BYO picnic dinner and drinks. The PFA will be running a sausage sizzle, if families wish to buy a sausage in bread. There are tables and seats in the canteen courtyard, but families may wish to bring additional chairs.
For this event parents will be able to use the onsite car parks. Enter the main car park through Gate 1 on Balcombe Road (exit through electronic gate) or the rear car park accessed through via Charman Road. Once spaces are full, parents will need to park on the street.

Uniform items
Could all parents please make sure that ALL clothing is clearly named. We often find jumpers, blazers or PE gear left at school and we cannot return it if it is not named.
Year 7 Camp – Arrabri Lodge
All Year 7 students will be attending a camp at Arrabri Lodge in Warburton East in the week of 24 February.
- Camp 1 – 7 A, D, E & F: Monday 24 February – Wednesday 26 February
- Camp 2 – 7 B, C, G & H: Wednesday 26 February – Friday 28 February
This is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to get to know each other and for them to get to know their teachers in a relaxed setting. More information regarding Year 7 camp and for parents to provide consent is on Compass.
Year 8 Elevate
The Year 8 students will be attending a session on time management run by Elevate Education period 4, Friday 7 February. These skills will stand them in good stead for all years and we encourage the girls to practise them so that they become more effective learners.
We will be holding a Parent Information night, run by Elevate, later in the year as we would like you to hear the information so that you can encourage your daughter to use those skills at home when studying. More information will be provided later.
