Parents & Friends Association

Message from P&F President

To all Queen of Peace Families

On behalf of the P&F I would like to welcome everyone back to 2019. I hope the summer break was spent enjoying some quality time with your loved ones and enjoying the respite from making lunches and routine.

To our new families to the school, welcome. I hope you and your children are settling in well. It can be a steep learning curve for the parents, especially the first time preppy parents, so I hope you manage to find an “old hand’’ that can help you navigate this time. I look forward to seeing as many as possible at the Prep Welcome BBQ on Monday 11th February.

1. We are looking forward to a year filled with not only fundraising but social events to

continue to bring the QOP community together. It is understandable that not everyone is free to volunteer or attend each event, but we encourage you not to be held back by this, as any help and attendance is greatly appreciated within your means. If you are able to volunteer to help this year, please remember to have your Volunteer Working with Children Check in order. This check is mandatory under the Child Safety Standards and does not have a cost associated with it. The process to obtain this check is detailed below and this process can be started on online at: WORKING WITH CHILDREN APPLICATIONS

Our first meeting is on Monday 11th February at 7pm in the staff room. You do not have to be a committee member to attend.  We welcome all and would like to see some new faces to get some new perspectives on how we can help make a difference at QOP.  The agenda for the first meeting will be distributed via CareMonkey.  If you are unable to attend and would like to touch base please email pandf@qopaltonameadows.catholic.edu.au

I hope 2019 is filled with some wonderful learning experiences for your children in our wonderful community of teachers and parents that make QOP.

- Rebecca Whelan (P&F President)
