Wonderful Winter

Throughout the month of July, the Greater City of Dandenong will be running  holiday activities during each school holidays.

The Winter Holidays Activities are open for 12 – 25 year olds who live, work, study or have a significant connection to the City of Greater Dandenong. The Wonderful Winter Holiday Activities consists of 11 activities and events including trips to Melbourne Museum, Scienceworks, Gravity Zone, a basketball and volleyball tournament and much more. 

Bookings open on 3 June and can be done through Greater Dandenong Council’s Customer Services or Youth and Family Services reception at 39 Clow St.

Winter Indoor Sports 

City of Greater Dandenong Youth and Family Services are delivering the Winter Indoor Sports Tournament these July school holidays, featuring a 3v3 basketball tournament and 4v4 volleyball tournament.

This event is a community tournament, generally attracting around 200 young people aged 12-25 years.

The tournament will be held : 

When: Friday 12 July 

Time: 11am-3pm

Where: Dandenong Stadium, 270 Stud Rd Dandenong

 

The tournament invites young people aged 12-25 who live, work, study or have a strong connection to Greater Dandenong to register under one of our three divisions:

  • Under 16s mixed
  • Under 25s male
  • Under 25s female

Winning teams will be provided with trophies and runners up teams will be provided with medals.

Circus Quirkis 

The Rotary Club of Preston proudly presents International Entertainment’s animal-free ‘Circus Quirkus’.

Thanks to the generous support from the City of Greater Melbourne’s business communities, tickets are COMPLIMENTARY for children who have faced any difficulties or disadvantage in recent times, including but not limited to children with a disability, ASD, chronic illness, in foster-care or with low socio- economic status.

*Tickets for all family members, carers, teachers, etc. are also complimentary. **Companion cards are accepted at this event.

Circus Quirkus provides children of all abilities and backgrounds an opportunity to experience world-class entertainment in an inclusive, accessible and safe environment where they feel welcomed and free to be themselves without restriction or judgement.

Circus Quirkus is a contemporary take on favourite, traditional circuses of ages past. It is an eclectic and entertaining mix of circus acts brought to you from all over the world. Internationally renowned clowns, jugglers, acrobats and more, deliver hilarious, hugely engaging and sometimes death-defying acts of unbelievable skill. Circus Quirkus is suitable for kids of all ages. We hope it provides a wonderful day of respite and fun.

FreeZa Frenzy

FReeZA is a program for young people aged 12-25 years. The program provides young people opportunities to gain skills on planning and delivering an event/festival, music and dance, technical production and recording.

  • Deliver youth events in the community
  • Learn about event management
  • Develop Leadership skills
  • Gain experience in technical production.

This takes place at the Greater City of Dandenong Community Centre Thursday's 4.45pm-6.30pm Fortnightly
