QUEENSLAND MUSIC TOUR

On Saturday 13th July, 38 very excited students boarded the bus in Homewood Drive, to travel up to Queensland. We knew we were in for an action packed week, and it sure was. The bus drove continuously to the Gold Coast, stopping every couple of hours. Having very little sleep due to the excitement, we arrived at our destination by 3pm the next day.

The students choose their camp spot, and then it was straight into pitching their two man safari tents. This was amazing to see... 25 tents all in a row. The patrons / people on holidays at the park said how well behaved the group was.

Our week was filled with fantastic performances. Every gig was geared to the particular audience - whether it be a shopping mall, Pacific Fair, Broadbeach Mall, Primary schools or an evening concert at Tallebudgera Tourist Park. Every performance was warmly received.

The MSC musicians became professional in setting up, performing, packing up, then back on the road for another gig. They experienced life on the road as a musician. They were a great team!!

We also got to visit Sea World, Movie World and Wet and Wild. Our red tee shirts stood out in the crowd, and we could easily pick out an MSC student screaming excitedly up and down the roller coaster ride.

The students were swinging from tree to tree on the high ropes course at Currumbin Bird Sanctuary. They had strolls along the beach, and we even managed to fit in a bit of retail therapy at a couple of shopping centres.

A big thank you to our parent helpers - Andrea Andronaco and Sam Jefferis who were an incredible support during the tour. Also to Janette Smith who prepared yummy food for the entire week and to Leonard Balfour of Balfour's Bus company for driving us through-out the Tour.

All term fees have been sent to all of the music families. It is important to attend to outstanding fees now in preparation for next term. A reminder that payment plans are available. Please feel free to contact the finance office with queries relating to music fees.
