Principal's Report

Phase 1 - Moving Forward

Week 3 and Week 4, Term 2 (to be reviewed Week 4)

commencing 11th May 2020

Welcome back to Term 2. Could I again take this opportunity to thank our parents for their amazing commitment, under very challenging circumstances, to support the continuity of learning for your children.

Thank you to all of the parents who have sent through their thanks and congratulations to our wonderful staff at Guyra Central School. Do we really need anymore opportunities to demonstrate how well the Guyra community pulls together in challenging times?

The purpose of this newsletter is to provide the community with a copy of our Phase 1 - Moving Forward Model that will commence on Monday 11th May 2020. This model has been developed by students, parents and staff and has been developed to serve the contextual needs of our wonderful school and community. The Model will be in place initially for Week 3 and Week 4 with adjustments being made to align with Federal and State directions moving into Week 5, if required.

Please be aware that the school remains open during this time and for  all students of essential services,  this will not change.

Buses also continue to support families and all bus services are available for students.

Please be aware that when you return to school, if you have a school laptop on loan, you will need to bring that laptop with you for use at school.

A new school timetable has been developed for our secondary students and will be distributed to all students during Week 3.

We are asking students to bring back all completed work that has not been returned so that marking can be undertaken in a timely fashion.

The Homework Centre will return as per normal from Week 3 on Monday and Thursday 3:30 – 5:30 in the Library. All students are welcome – not just those who are scheduled to be at school on those days.

Please take the time to read the pages of this newsletter for all information leading into Week 3.

I would encourage you to ring the front office or contact me directly with any questions or concerns.

Thanks again to everyone for the support.
