WT 2019: "All the world's a stage" 

The 2019 Performing Arts World Tour is an amazing performance and cultural experience for RSC students.

 

For more information about the tour and how to apply, please come along to the family information session and "World Tour Launch" on 1st May at 7pm in the College Hall.

Rehearsals are well underway for the annual full school production. These kooky bunch of students have been energetically rehearsing to bring the crazy world of the Addams Family to life in musical for.

Welcome back to a very busy term 2. Well done to all music students who have attended day camps over the holidays and master classes in preparation for our upcoming Jazz Night and Generations in Jazz performances next week

 

Our Jazz Night is this Monday 30 April, and it is already sold out! The evening is being held at the Central Club Hotel, 293 Swan St, Richmond. Senior Stage Band are required for set us and sound check at 6.30pm and all other ensembles need to arrive by 7pm. Music commences at 7.30pm.

 

On Friday 4 May, all students attending Generations in Jazz in Mt Gambier must be at school no later than 7.30am. Please note space under the buses is extremely limited so please bring soft bags only. Please no hard suitcases. Also, don’t forget to bring a music stand, sleeping bag, pillow and towel.

 

Once back from Mt Gambier, we will be commencing rehearsals for NEVR concert at Hammer Hall. RSC is hosting the symphony orchestra being conducted by Peter Morris, Head of Conducting and Ensembles at Queensland Conservatorium.  Rehearsals are Sunday 13 and 20 May. Concert is at Hamer hall Tuesday 22 May.

 

Junior Concert is on Monday 28 May, 7.30pm. Heathmont East PS Strings will be our invited guests.

Senior Concert is on Thursday 21 June, 7.30pm

 

Victorian Schools Music Festival.

All Stage Bands, Choirs and Junior Concert Band have been entered. Performance dates are next term.

 

 VSMF Strings Festival:

Senior Strings: Friday 1 June, 2.15pm 4.30pm.

Symphony Orchestra: Friday 1 June, 6.30pm 9.45pm.

 

Events will be on COMPASS soon.

 

 We would like to welcome our two new percussion teachers who are replacing Phillip Binotto. We are fortunate to have Ronny Farella and Tony Floyd, both professional percussionists, who also teach at VCA and Monash Uni. It great to hear the impact that they are already having on our percussionist.
