Writing Anthology

Do you want to get feedback on your writing? Lucy’s Year 5 Writing Group is holding a writing competition for all year levels. Entries are judged based on VCOP elements (VCOP elements as well as creative ideas). The purpose is to enjoy writing for a wider audience and to get your writing published.

Rules of entry:

-Students in Years Prep-2 have a maximum of 300 words but it can be less

-Students in Years 3-6 have a maximum of 600 words but it can be less

-Must be typed and printed on an A4 piece of paper

-You are able to use an old piece of writing and up-level it

-All text types welcome

Dates:

All entries must be handed in to the office by the 7th of December.

The winners will be announced at the End of Year Assembly

Computer Science Education Week 2018

This week (December 3rd – 9th) is Computer Science Education Week!

Old Orchard P.S. has become involved this week by having a big focus on coding skills. Our students had the opportunity to pair up with their ICT buddies from a different year level to learn about our various coding resources. This included Robotic Mice, Bee Bots, Dot and Dash and Spheros. They learnt how to input specific instructions and were given challenges to make the robots perform certain actions or tasks.
