Sports News
The last few weeks have been action packed with sporting events. Congratulations to the Boys Netball Team who won their competition on the Schools Netball Cup Competition Day. The winning boys team will be playing at the Region competition on Wednesday September 4th, so we wish them the best of luck.
Girls Gala Football Teams
Last week we entered 3 Girls Football teams into the Gala Day competition. The girls had so much fun with tackling, rolling around in the mud, learning how to play the actual game and listening to 2 AFLW players share their journey. Well done to one of the teams, which made it into the Semi finals on the day. Hopefully ,as in the past, some of the girls will now venture out and join a local football club to explore the game further. Thank you to Amanda Dane (Jasmine’s mum) for assisting to coach one of the teams on the day. Thank you also to Mr Brock and Miss Yallop for coaching the other two teams.
Teeball Team
Congratulations to the Red Girls Teeball Team who won the District final back in Term 1. They played in the Division final last week against Warranwood PS and won the game. This now qualifies them to play in the Region Teeball final on Monday August 26th. Thank you to the parents who have so far volunteered to assist with driving the girls to the competition.
District Athletics Trials
The District Athletics Competition is coming up on Tuesday September 3rd. Trials for the events have already started and Circular Relay training started after school at the Croydon Athletics Track last night. Thank you to the parents who are assisting with transporting the children to the track. Trials will be taking place during PE lessons as well as lunchtimes over the next few weeks.

Announcing Our Golden Ticket Competition
To help celebrate Book Week we are having a ‘Golden Ticket’ competition. I have chosen 6 random library books to be our ‘Golden Ticket’ books. When these books are borrowed the student will receive a Golden Ticket. After all books have been borrowed the lucky students with Golden Tickets will receive a prize. The competition started on Tuesday and two of our Prep Students were lucky enough to choose winning books. They are Indiana C from PCV who chose ‘The Bus to the Zoo’ and Lana W from PKT who borrowed ‘Dumbo’. Henry B from MBJ was our third lucky winner on day one of the competition. He borrowed ‘Crazy Kiwi’.
Congratulations to our winners so far and good luck to the rest of our students.

Cupcake Day was a HUGE Success
Thanks to our Junior School Council for their wonderful organisation and to the amazing band of parents who baked and decorated a brilliant array of cupcakes for yesterday's "Cupcakes For Gaga" fundraiser. A massive $643.50 was raised towards construction of a Gaga Pit for our students to enjoy. This has been on the JSC Wishlist for some time and yesterday's efforts mean it's well on the way to becoming reality!
