YEAR 8 CAMPUS NEWS

WELCOME BACK - TERM 2

It has been good to see all students return to school refreshed and ready for a particularly busy period of the year.

We have started the term quickly with some students and staff volunteering their time to assist at a Bunnings BBQ on Sunday. This BBQ was to raise money for our Human Powered Vehicle program and the eventual purchase of a second vehicle. Thank you to all the students who assisted on the day as well as Mrs Tiver for organizing the food, Mrs McGlashan, Ms Hagen, Mr Knight and Mr Press for cooking the BBQ and Mr Fleming for organizing the whole day.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind students and families of a few things that will be occurring.

  • ANZAC Day service - Monday April  23
  • We will commence the day at the Enright Campus next Monday to participate in the ANZAC Day service. Bike riders will be transported from the Mercy Campus. All other students should make their way to the Enright Campus at the start of the day.
  • St. Joseph the Worker Feast Day Activities and Cross Country
  • Wednesday May 2 students will commence the day as normal at the Mercy Campus and should wear clothes suitable for the event they are participating in, with a change of casual clothes for after the race. The St Joseph the Worker Feast Day activities will take place after the run and all students will be assisting their homerooms in some way during this event.
  • Year 8 camp - May 7 to 11I
  • It is time to be organizing the final details on the equipment list. It is very pleasing to see over 95% of students intending to go on camp and having returned their forms already. If you have any further questions or concerns about the camp, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

As you can see there is plenty happening over the next month. I hope everyone continues to work hard through this period and enjoy the benefits that come from this part of the school year.
