COLLEGE NEWS

CHINA STUDENT EXCHANGE

St Joseph's College will be entering into a student exchange program for our students to visit a secondary school in China late in Term 3 and the holidays.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students in Years 9, 10 and 11 to visit China to experience the Chinese lifestyle and education system.  Students will meet other students, stay with a Chinese family and attend a high ranking regional college. Students will also have the opportunity to visit famous Chinese cultural sites.

China is a major economic partner for Australia and this region for our exports and businesses.  This will provide insights into the Chinese way of life and greatly improve the cultural awareness of our students.

Please contact Dr Tony Finn for more information or to express an interest in attending this trip.

NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) 2018 for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students will be held on Tuesday May 15, Wednesday May 16 and Thursday May 17.

LOOKING FORWARD - YEARS 11 AND 12

St Joseph’s has built a reputation as a school of choice and excellence, not only in terms of educational outcomes, but in the quality of the students we shape – qualities abundantly demonstrated each year in our Year 11 and 12 student cohort.

Please read the attached letter for further information.

Thank you for your ongoing support in ensuring your children are in full winter uniform at St Joseph’s College. I thank parents who have forwarded positive correspondence regarding the new direction of the College.

As you know, supply issues beyond our control hampered the availability of the arrival of some blazers.  To counter this, relevant students were issued with laminated passes.

We have been advised blazers will arrive in the first week of May. Students who were issued with laminated passes will be able to use these until this date. To ensure consistency, our uniform policy will be followed as normal.

The positive responses from students has also been overwhelming, and we look forward to your continued support.
