INTERSCHOOL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
On Monday March 26, 16 students from St Joseph’s College attended the Interschool Tennis Championships. These students consisted of four teams, a junior boys and girls team and an intermediate boys and girls team.
The junior boys (Toby Galbraith, Kurtis Fitzpatrick, Dylan Wood and Anthony DeMaria) placed first out of five teams and did not drop a set.
The junior girls (Alyssa Marks, Sophie Michael, Lily Neagle and Kayla Wall) placed third out of five teams.
The intermediate boys (Liam Wood, Zac Galbraith, Josh Reck and Xavier Kendall) also placed first out of five teams and did not lose a single set.
The intermediate girls (Natalie Sapuppo, Breanne Marks, Alana Wall and Georgia Newell) placed first out of two teams. This was a pleasing result: three first places and a third place.
The behaviour, sportsmanship and positive attitude that these students displayed was exceptional, I was very proud of each and every student.
The three teams that placed first have qualified to play at the next level, in Mildura. Good luck to these students.
