FEAST DAY CELEBRATIONS

CROSS COUNTRY AND ST JOSEPH THE WORKER DAY CELEBRATIONS
WHEN: Wednesday May 2
WHERE: St Joseph's College Mercy Campus - Corner Riverside Avenue and Eleventh Street
TIME: Normal school times 8.50am - 3.20pm (student can arrive from 8.30am)
The Cross Country will be followed by the St Joseph’s Day celebrations of food stalls, activities and concert. All of these events will be co-ordinated at the Mercy Campus on Eleventh Street.
The following arrangements are designed to limit the concerns of parents and the wider community in relation to student movement along Eleventh Street on mornings when St Joseph’s College has whole school events at the Mercy Campus.
We are therefore providing alternate transport to alleviate the need for students to walk to the Mercy Campus from the Enright Campus. We are actively recommending that students are either delivered by parents to the Mercy Campus or that students arrive at the Enright Campus as normal and the following arrangements apply.
Parents are requested to take note of the following arrangements for students.
Where students are normally dropped off at the Enright Campus:
- We strongly recommend parents take students to the Mercy Campus before 8.50am on May 2
- Where this is not possible, students can be delivered to the Enright Campus. All students who arrive at the Enright Campus will be taken by bus to the Mercy Campus.
Students who walk to school to the Enright Campus:
- Students who arrive at the Enright Campus will be bussed to the Mercy Campus.
Students who arrive at the Enright Campus by bus:
- Students may be able to continue on their bus to the Mercy Campus as most buses drop Year 8 students at the Mercy Campus each morning. If they need to exit the bus at the Enright Campus, these students will be taken by College bus to the Mercy Campus.
Year 8 and Trade Training students who arrive at the Mercy Campus on Thursdays are to follow normal routines.
END OF THE DAY
- Students may be picked up by parents at 3.20pm from the Mercy Campus. Entry after 3.15pm will be via the 11th Street gate with a pick up zone arranged near the Mercy Theatre. Exit will be via the Riverside Avenue gate. Parents may park around the perimeter fence parking spaces while waiting for students, however not in the Riverside Avenue Bus zones. Please refer to the attached traffic map for a detailed explanation of traffic movement and drop off and pick up zones.
- Bus travellers – students are to check with their particular bus driver as to whether this bus picks up at the Mercy Campus at the end of the day as many buses pick up Year 8 students each day. Some buses do not go the Mercy Campus.
- If bus travellers need transport to the Enright Campus in order to catch buses, transport will be available for this purpose. Students will be required to show their bus pass to get this transport.
- Students may be dismissed from the Mercy Campus at the end of the day but parents are notified that St Joseph’s College discourages student movement along Eleventh Street at the start and end of the day where this is not the usual route for students.
- Transport will be provided for students who need to return to the Enright Campus at the end of the day.
We look forward to a successful day for all students and hope that these arrangements assist in the smooth and safe conduct of the day.
The format of the day will be as follows;
