Victor Chang Awards
On November 29, I had the pleasure of travelling over to Dubbo Senior Campus for the presentation of the Victor Chang School Science Awards. This year the recipient from Cowra High School was Ellee White. This award recognised her hard work and application in both Chemistry and Biology in Year 11. The Victor Chang Award is given to students across NSW who excel in their Science studies and go the extra mile. These qualities are exemplified by Ellee in every lesson and she is very deserving of this award.

Head Teacher Science (Rel)
Earlier this term I was offered the opportunity to participate in the Victor Chang School Science Awards. This award gave me the opportunity firstly to travel to Dubbo to receive the award presented by Dr Alastair Stewart. Then, on the December 10, I travelled to Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute at St Vincent's Centre for Applied Medical Research. Whilst there, I toured the medical facilities, participated in a series of lectures on the activities of the institute and finished by experimenting with DNA extraction and analysis. This was a fantastic opportunity to explore my love of science and further develop my passion for the field of medicine.

Year 7 makes Rocky Road
Last week as the last experiment of the year, 7B made rocky road with Miss Van Leeuwen. Each student brought in some chocolate and lollies and enjoyed the experience of melting chocolate and making a delicious treat.
