COMMUNITY NEWS

Catholic Missions

Pope Francis, the head of our organisation has so often exhorted us to care for those in need and asks us “to obey [the Lord’s] call to go forth from our own comfort zone in order to reach all the ‘peripheries’ in need of the light of the Gospel” (Evangelii Gaudium)  We would be delighted if you would again join us as we support the care of children and communities in need and the proclamation of the Gospel to all.

Who better to understand the needs of children than children? We would love Infant Jesus to join us this year as we focus on ‘children helping children’, raising funds to support school building programs and equipping teachers and children with teaching and learning resources, or funding health and nutrition programs and medication.

Socktober, Catholic Mission’s fun initiative that encourages young people to raise essential funds for children in need around the world will again be available with supporting material later in the year. Although Socktober is traditionally held during October, which is World Mission Month, we very much welcome your support at any stage during the year.

Marriage Encounter Weekend

WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER:

Getting ready for school means lots of time spent on your children.  After school begins, why not give yourselves some time together? Don't you and your spouse deserve a beautiful weekend away together?

Remember the early days of your marriage. Just being together was most important. The Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend has the same focus.  The weekend centres entirely on your relationship.  It is a positive, private experience between you and your spouse, that revitalises marriage by helping you to see again those loving qualities in each other that you may be taking for granted. Take a weekend out of the busyness of your lifestyle, where there is just the two of you, free of distractions.  We invite you to join us on one of our next Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekends.  31 March – 2nd April 2017 or 11 – 13 August 2017 For information or booking contact:  0424 220 625 – George & Monica or  Email: WAbookings@wwme.org.au  Website – www.wwme.org.au
