Season of Creation

The Season of Creation is our special time for the Creator and each other.

On September 1 Christian churches came together to celebrate the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and to observe the Season of Creation between that day and October 4 – the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Pope Francis designated September 1 as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. Join Pope Francis and Christians around the globe in praying for and taking action for our common home in the Season of Creation,

The suggested theme for this year’s celebration is “the web of life.” We’re uniting to protect all species and the glory of the Creator that they reveal.

We all need to protect creation. It’s powerfully good work that’s urgently needed.

May the momentum continue long after the season ends through our ongoing prayer, changes in lifestyle, and advocacy.

During the Season of Creation, may we live out our faith to care for creation.
