Resource Centre News

Book Week was again very successful this year with many students entering the Quiz competition which included a range of authors, fiction and non-fiction material as well as a focus on the UNECO Year of Indigenous Languages.

The winners of the Book Week Quiz are: Jasmine Ferguson, Veronica Thorpe, Balin Willis, Hayden Haines and Nicholas Simons. I would like to congratulate these students who received book vouchers for their efforts.

New books are on display in the Resource Centre and are ready for borrowing. These books include the Horrid Henry series by Francesca Simon, Garth Nix Frogkisser, The Game: a collection of the best AFL Stories (Edited by Dennis Cometti), DC Comics, Lois Lowry’s Anastasia series, more Morris Gleitzman books including Belly Flop, Sticky Beak, Toad Rage and Blabber Mouth as well as the Michael Grant Gone Novels and Belinda Murrell Time Slip series of Australian historical adventures.

There are so many exciting books to read, so drop by the Resource Centre and browse the collections to find that perfect book for you to read and enjoy.

Students who received an email to remind them of overdue library items have either returned those items or elected to have the borrowing time extended. I would like to thank these students for such a prompt response and to urge other students to read your email notifications to check if you have received a reminder notice from the Resource Centre for overdue items as we have students waiting to borrow these overdue books.

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” John Green, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ (Author)
