Business and Legal Studies Report
This term in Business and Legal Studies we have been focusing on the legal part of the subject. We have learnt about Criminal law and Civil law, Court hierarchy, the three levels of government, the purposes of Criminal Law, the key concepts of Criminal Law, the types of Crime, Murder elements and defences and so much more. Legal studies has been my favourite subject this term, I have found it extremely interesting. After finishing and completing year 12, I am considering going to University to study Law and become a Lawyer. I have enjoyed learning a lot about Law and I am very excited to continue learning all about the law next year in year 11.

Extended Investigation Report
Extended investigation provides students with the ability to delve deeper into the topic of inquiry. Our class consists of a great deal of intellectual discussion between students about a wide range of philosophical, social and cultural topics. Over the course of this term, each student has developed their skills on content including:
• Intentional observation
• Research questions
• Ethics and morals
• Cornell notes
• Subjective and objective
• Cognitive bias
• Critical thinking
• Deductive and Inductive thinking
• Process of an argument
As part of the class, we were required to complete a CAT that consisted of a written rational on our chosen topic. Using all of our newly gathered information each of us submitted a written rationale. As we continue to learn new skills, we will be required to submitted the rest of the article next term.
Another exciting thing we did this term was attend an excursion at the State Library of Victoria. We listened to and observed the 2019 Victorian top CAT’s for Extended Investigation. All of us were inspired by the amazing presentations.
Angela & Ansab (Year 10)
Twentieth Century History Report
As a Year 10, we as a cohort have many interesting subjects like History. This past term my class and I have been learning about the World Wars, World War One in particular. We have discussed the causes, outcomes and what if’s of World War One, helping to improve our knowledge of these historic events and the past of our country. Australia played a major role in several key battles of WW1 and alongside Britain were important in deciding the outcome of the war against Germany and the Central Powers. We have also begun to imagine what life would be like if some key events did not take place, like if Germany had won the war or if Adolf Hitler was killed on the battlefields of the Western Front. This subject has made students think about the privileges we have as a society today. It also enables us to share personal stories about our families connection to the wars, this has created a great amount of interest for the students in History.
