WE MADE FAIRY BREAD
To practise the skill of writing personal recounts the Year 1 students made fairy bread! We took it in turns to butter our bread and cover it with sprinkles. The best part was eating the fairy bread. All of the students agreed it was super yummy!!
After we had finished making our Fairy Bread we wrote a recount of what we did and drew pictures to support our writing. We thought about the 5 Ws (who, what, when, where, why) when we were writing our recount! This added detail to our writing and made it sound interesting.

MAKING FRUIT LOOP NECKLACES
Throughout the term in Mathematics we have been learning about patterns, we have been making patterns with letters, numbers and colours! The most important thing the students can recall about patterns is that a pattern repeats itself!
To help the students to consolidate their understanding of patterns we made Fruit Loop necklaces and bracelets! They had lots of fun threading their fruit loops onto their pieces of string and making their pattern necklaces!

ATHLETICS DAY
The Year 1 students had so much fun on Athletics Day! We were able to play lots of fun games and build on important physical skills! We began our day in the Gym, where we participated in rotation activities, then we headed out to the playground where we played ball games and played on the playground. Next, we used the giant parachute which we love a lot!
After that we had our lunch and waited for our 100-metre race to begin. We all had so much fun racing each other and cheering on our team mates! Finally, we watched the MAD dancers perform which was spectacular! We had such a great day on the Middle Years Campus, participating in Athletics Day!!
