CHICAGO

On the 5th of February MAD Dance and MAD Music caught a train to the Arts Centre in the city to watch the musical ‘Chicago’.

Before the musical we were able to have a walk around the Southbank and grab some lunch. It was a really nice day and we enjoyed sitting by the river.

When we met up, we walked to the Arts Centre and got our tickets. It was an exciting experience to go to the Arts Centre for the first time as we normally see shows at Her Majesty’s Theatre. When we took our seats we were quite surprised to be the only school group there. Most of the audience were adults.

I thought the show was different, more mature and more realistic. I loved the costumes and the music was really enjoyable. The band was on the stage for the whole show, which was also different to what we have seen in the past. The dances were great to watch as the musical was set in the 1920s and it was a unique style of movement. I felt inspired especially by the dancers as I hope to develop a career as a dancer on stage.
