Super Spelling Results

Dear Parents, 

This year we have engaged the “spelling guru” Chris Killey to work

with the Kinder, Yr 1 and Yr 2 teachers. Chris has proved to be just fantastic and our results from the infants classes are really pleasing, particularly Year 1, who have showed some outstanding growth. 

Chris has enabled the teachers to think more deeply about;

The importance of a developmental sequence for success

The language of spelling

Grammar

Classroom setup and what to prepare

Assessment

The feedback from teachers is positive and we plan to involve the primary teachers next year. 

If you were not able to make it to a parent/student/teacher interview this semester the teachers will be in contact next term. It is important for us that we touch base with you about your child’s progress. 

If there is anything you need to follow up from an interview I encourage you to do so. We expect parents to ask questions, seek clarification and keep the communication alive. 

Thank you to all parents who have helped out in any way this term. Whether it be cross country, cooking a barbeque or in the canteen, we appreciate your involvement. 

I hope you get a chance to spend time with your children over the break and I look forward to catching up with you at the Athletics carnival.
