Principal's Report

Dear Families and Friends

As I write for this issue of the Lantern, I am so proud of all that has taken place at the College since the last issue.  We have held Music Festival: The Finale at the Melbourne Recital Centre, our Welcome Barbecue and Parent Information Evenings, the Swimming Carnival, our Welcome Mass, the first Parents and Friends’ Association meeting, and the VCE Cross Campus Ceremony, which was held here at PCW.

For our community, these occasions are important as they build our sense of connection and belonging. They give us the opportunity to showcase our skills, talents, passions and interests.  They provide us with the opportunity to “Flourish as Presentation”, our theme for the year.  This year they are even more important and there is a bitter sweetness to everything that we do, because in celebrating these important events we also recognise that it is the last time we will be celebrating them as Presentation College Windsor.  I would like to share with you some of the key messages in our Welcome Mass which I feel encapsulates who we are and how we are approaching everything that we do this year:

We celebrate Presentation College today.

A diverse community of people who stand together in unity.

A vibrant faith-filled community that emphasises the dignity of difference, equal opportunity

and diversity of learning.

We bless all that we have been given and received; energy and imagination,

encouragement and support, hope and possibility.

We look beyond to our future selves.

Long after the gates of Presentation College close, we will continue to carry the Lantern

as people of justice and integrity.

We will remain agents of change and take up our responsibility to bravely challenge injustice

with hope filled hearts.

We carry Nano’s legacy. Now and Forever.

We will always be Presentation.

Please enjoy this issue of The Lantern.

Warm regards
