A big thank you to our Menzies PS Community for supporting the bake sale last week. A massive $364.50 was raised and donated to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Special thanks also goes to our Junior Chaplains Aliah and Alessia for organising the event. We had a great team of bakers:  Emily, Ayisha, and Emmy and some some fabulous helpers on the day: Kate, Justin, Brenda and Roman.

Winter Market - Planning Day  6th March @ 2:30pm

In case you’ve been wondering why it’s been so cold on some days lately… well, to put us in the mood for our upcoming fabulous winter market, of course! 😃☃️

We’re running it on Saturday, June 13, probably 4-7pm. Looking at a lantern parade, craft activities, mulled wine, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting, walk-in sauna, waffles - you name it!

Come along to a kick-off meeting on Friday March 6, 2:30pm, in the staff room, and let’s collect some ideas and hands up. This is a community event, so make yourself heard! We would love to see many faces!

If you can’t make it that day but would like to contribute in any way, please email f.lindhaus@me.com.

Thanks very much,

Florence

Family Picnic Night

Please join us on the green space to hang out with the families of the Menzies Creek community. Bring a picnic rug and chairs. Enjoy our sausage sizzle. Join in games, or sit and relax with friends old and new. For new families, this is a great opportunity to meet other members of our special community. We look forward to seeing you there!

Many thanks,

A Call for One Parent Representative from Each Class for the Community and Fundraising Group

Dear parents,

We are asking for one or two parents from each class to step forward to assist in the organising of events. This year the events will be the Family Picnic, Hot food days, Easter Raffle, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Winter Market, Dance and Movie Night.

The main role of the group is to coordinate events but we also encourage the representatives to organise some social events for your class in the holidays. This may be as simple as a play in the park.

Any time you can contribute is much appreciated. We are always looking for new and interesting ways to raise funds for the school, so suggestions are always welcome.

Why we fundraise

To provide the children of Menzies Creek Primary School with the best opportunity in all areas of their education, we raise additional funds to supplement government funding. The funds raised may go toward a number of areas within the school including reading resources; new equipment such as computers and playground equipment; sports equipment; etc.

Please let your child’s classroom teacher know if you are interested to get involved.

Warm regards,

The Community Relations Sub-committee (Florence, Anna, Sarah and Eric)
