Anson Street Campus – 2019 wrap-up
The Anson Street Campus is directly across the street from the main school site, we are made up of six classes: three Anson Street School classes, two Orange Learning Centre tutorial program classes, and the Return to School Program class.
We are proud of our campus, we have a basketball court, campus kitchen, trampoline, a bouldering wall in ‘The Zone’, a chook enclosure and access to lovely walks over the back around the grapevines to see the farm animals.
This term we have enjoyed some great days and celebrated achievements, including a visit from rugby league players and the ‘Deadly Ninja Warrior’. We have prepared and cooked nutritious and delicious food during breakfast club with our dietician, and in class food technology time. Students have been on many interesting outings around town to learn and upskill in many areas, and have been to fun places near and far such as Gosling Creek and Taronga Zoo!
The campus students and staff began a positive impact project of raising awareness and collecting donations for the recent bushfires this term. Two boxes of care items were taken to the Wildlife Rescue Collective in Port Macquarie, and grocery vouchers and school stationary items were sent up to Bowraville Central School where some students had lost their family home. We are so proud of our community support efforts this term and cannot wait to be even stronger global citizens next year!
We are farewelling some amazing campus people this week, Mr Bartlett and Mrs Tierney two of our finest staff; and Jayden, Coby and Isiah are finishing up their time in the OLC tutorial program. We will miss them a lot and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.
Finally, it has been a busy term, full of new things to learn and people to understand. I have enjoyed becoming part of the Anson Street Campus crew- the staff of the campus are truly incredible, the support and camaraderie shown to each other through the giggles and the challenges is nothing short of amazing.
Take care of yourselves and each other during the silly season
