What's Happening

Properties
For anyone dropping children off at the Lords Place transport, you will have hopefully noticed the new blue and green sails over the synthetic grass playground area. Over the next few weeks there will be more sail shades going up over the junior playground equipment and on the campus site. Canobolas Canvas have done a fantastic job and will be doing the new work as well around the school.
Planning is underway for an outdoor learning area in front of the buildings on the campus site and more outdoor sensory equipment around the school.
We will be adding seating for parents and carers near the front pickup area and will organise an official opening of the new hydrotherapy spa and The Zone (bouldering wall) in the near future.
I continue to champion for a secure fence around our school. We are the only school in Orange not to have a proper fence and our front fence is still not functional as the electronics have not been completed.

Focus on Attendance
Every day attendance is important for all students to maintain social connection and have optimal learning. The Department of Education takes very seriously poor attendance and students with attendance concerns will be referred to the Home School Liaison Program.
School starts at 9:00am so any student who arrives after this time is marked as late. If your child/ward is sick we would expect that you would keep your child at home and contact the school at your earliest convenience to let us know. For students with diarrhea and/or vomiting, we ask that students remain home for a period of 48 hours from the last episode.
This week, letters will be going home to students who have concerns about their attendance. I would like to meet with families to discuss strategies and put an Attendance Improvement Plan in place to help improve attendance.
It is exciting to see that 35 students already have 100% attendance and will receive a special bonus prize and morning tea at the end of the term.
