Mrs Sue Burt & Mrs Franca Peluso
My apology for the lack of PE and Sport reports over the last month. It has been an extremely busy time organising and training the Cross Country and Year 6 Winter Sport teams, as well as, writing reports.
DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY
On Wednesday 24th May, 70 students represented our school at the District Cross Country. For many of the younger students, this was their first time. Competing against 6 other schools and with up to 60 students in a race, all of our students gave 100% effort and performed to their best. Congratulations and well done to those who competed and thank you to all the parents who came along to support all our students.

A very big thank you to all the parents who transported their child to the Divisional and Regional competitions. You were all a wonderful support to all the students.
YEAR 6 WINTER SPORT LIGHTNING PREMIERSHIP - FRIDAY 2ND JUNE
The Year 6 students participated in the District Winter Sport Lightning Premiership on Friday 2nd June. Students could select to participate in one of the following sports – Boys Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Mixed Tee-ball, Mixed Newcombe, Girls Netball and Mixed Netball.
All students thoroughly enjoyed the day. The sportsmanship and behaviour from all the students were excellent.
Both the Boys Football and Boys Soccer finished runners up, the Newcombe and Tee-ball teams finished 3rd and the Girls Netball and Mixed Netball 4th.
The Girls Soccer team had a very exciting final against Woodlands. The teams were nil all until the last 90 seconds of the game. A fast break from Cali McCartney resulted in a goal for Langy Park and therefore the win. The Girls Soccer team are now District Champions and will be playing in the Divisional finals next term.
YEAR 5 WATER SAFETY
This week the Year 5 students have participated in the first of their Water Safety training in preparation for the Year 6 Water Safety program which is conducted at Mornington Lifesaving Club.

- experienced PFD (Personal Floatation Device) activities – how to put on a PFD, entering the water with a PFD and swimming with a PFD
- learnt to hold a paddle correctly, enter and leave an inflatable boat, to paddle forwards and backwards, what to do when a boat capsizes etc.
- experienced learning to swim whilst wearing clothes.
