Xin chào! This term, the students have been busy learning to count, sharing their interests, learning the days of the week and handwriting letters to their friends in Vietnamese!
The amazing FLC students are learning to count to 5 in Vietnamese! They have engaged in number games and counting activities to practise their numbers. The students have also been learning to say hi and introduce themselves in Vietnamese by engaging in whole class activities.
The JLC students have been developing their knowledge of conversational Vietnamese by expressing their likes and dislikes with their peers and teacher. Over the weeks, they have learnt the Vietnamese names of different fruits such as strawberries, apples and bananas. We had a class vote to see which fruit the students ‘thích’ (like) the most and ‘không thích’ (dislike) – looks like strawberry is a winner!
The creative MLC students have been learning about the days of the week and months of the year. They used their prior knowledge of Vietnamese numbers to understand the days and months. To consolidate their learning, they created a puzzle to help them order the days in order.
The SLC students have been developing their conversational skills to ask and answer questions about themselves and others. They wrote a letter to introduce themselves to a friend and formed sentences using their knowledge of Vietnamese vocabulary.
